Steel pipes for pipelines

Our Core Business, Our History

Despite the proliferation of increasingly complicated and composite materials, steel pipe still holds the title to be the best product for conveying both liquid and gaseous fluids.

Gaglione MTE, also through its founders, has more than 40 years of experience in this sector and is therefore able to support you in all your projects, even the most complex ones.

OFFSHORE APPLICATIONS

Concrete over weighting (gunite) for offshore pipelines (CWC – Concrete Weight Coating).

CWC is a special coating applied in the coating mill, used to provide negative thrust for off-shore pipelines, for river and road crossings (negative buoyancy at empty pipeline).

  • Pipe dimensions: from 6” (DN 150) to 64” (DN 1600).
  • Bar length: 9 ÷ 13.5 m.
  • CWC thickness: 35 ÷ 150 mm.
  • CWC density: 2,200 ÷ 3,400 Kg/m3.
  • Application method: impingement.
  • The cement weighting is made up of special reinforced concrete.
  • Concrete is made through a calculated mixture of cement, aggregates and iron ore powder.
  • he armor is made of electro-welded galvanized steel mesh.
  • WC is applied over the anti-corrosive coating (3LPE, 3LPP, FBE, etc.) and, apart adding weight, it integrates the mechanical protection functions of the anti-corrosion coating.
  • It is possible to foresee the integrated application of sacrificial anodes, directly in the mill, for passive or combined cathodic protection.
